Hi everyone, with the kickstarter coming up soon, a few of us fans around the globe decided to come together to do a podcast on recent events. This podcast was brought to you by our mainstay host Aalt, also known as KimiNozo Guy, and staring Sachibelle, Evan, Suffolk and me (gabgrave). I’m very pleased to welcome KNG, who is a great fan of the franchise, to Alternative Projects, and you can read his awesome posts and debates on various topics in the industry and on Muv-Luv here at his blog.

This podcast contains:

• Brief introductions about ourselves,
• What we like about Muv-Luv and how we came to know it,
• Our thoughts on the kickstarter, what we think it should focus on, and what we expect from it.

This is our first test podcast, and is a test run for us to get used to things, so please be gentle with us if we sound stiff or odd, and for any problems with the sound quality.

Just to provide a clarification, the stretch goals we mention in the middle of the podcast are actually about the items listed in the poll for what fans would like to see implemented in the localization, and nothing has been confirmed to be in the official stretch goals as yet. The ending song is called Evildoer, from Xanadu Next by Nihon Falcom.

In next week’s issue, we will be talking to the Degica reps on the KS project, so do look forward to that, and if you have any questions you would like to ask them or us, do drop them to us at our email, and we’ll get them answered in our upcoming podcasts.

July updates

A little late, but AP wishes a Happy 4th of July to our American fans!

And now for our project updates. Our current teams have been working hard in the past months to bring more releases out, and I’m pleased to announce some additional projects that have been added to the list.

Haruko Maniax : 70%

Aspiration: 50%

New Projects

Total Eclipse: 20%

Yes! We are now also doing translations for Total Eclipse, thanks to Albedo and Evan taking up the project. We will be working to bring the VN in English to you, but do be patient as this will take time to be completed.

In addition, I am pleased to add Kimi ga Nozomu Eien LE to the list of our potential translations! As many of our members have expressed an interest in working on this after their current projects, I believe that we would soon be starting on this, though like TE, it will take time to complete. Please look forward to further updates for more news.

Muv-Luv Official English Kick-starter

People, I am very pleased to announce that Mu-Luv is finally getting a kick-starter for an official English localization! During the AX 2015 event held in LA, Ixtl and Degica announced that they will be opening a kick-starter to bring Muv-Luv to the West in English.

During the event, Ixtl opened a booth, and the creator of Muv-Luv Kouki Yoshimune and the official artists of the team made an appearance at the booth, greeting fans and giving out sketches and autographs.

For the localization, it is understood that they will be using Amaterasu’s fan translation as a base, and updating the translations to be more accurate. Also implied is the update of graphics and content to match those used in the PS3 and Windows 7 releases of the games, with 18+ content possible as a stretch goals.

The kick-starter will officially open in End Aug – Early Sept 2015, so we shall have to see what shows up. It was hinted that additional games and anime are possible stretch goals as well.

As a long term fan of the franchise, I have no words sufficient to express how I feel at finally seeing this day that an official English release is made possible. The years of effort I and the teams has put in has finally paid off. I would like to reach out to all fans of Muv-Luv who have enjoyed our releases to help make this kick-starter a success.

May 2015 Updates

Hi all, today we have a round of new project updates from Alternative Projects. As AP has started recruitment for more members to help work on more projects in the Muv-Luv franchise, I’m happy to report that our team has grown, and we have a number of new members who have joined us now working on different stories! Without further ado, please welcome our new members and our current projects!

Schwarzesmarken Light Novel Volume 1 (Chapter 3 & 4)

We have other projects planned, such as the rest of Chronicles, Total Eclipse, Ayu Mayu Alternative, and the various side stories, as well as the Schwarzesmarken VN when it’s released.

So we are still looking for more translators, English editors who know also know Russian, and especially programmers/hackers to help with the project. If you are one or know of anyone with these skills, and have an interest in the projects, do drop us an email!

Now, for updates in the franchise.

I’m very pleased to say that this month of May has seen a flood of releases and announcements from Age for Schwarzesmarken, or liberally translated into English, Black Marks. Thus this month has become the Black Month of May.

Age has announced that there will be an Anime for this series! This will be the second anime in the Muv-Luv franchise, following Total Eclipse. The anime will probably be released next year, after the release of the TWO VNs for Schwarzesmarken.

The first VN, titled Crest of Red Blood, is up for preorders, with a release date of Sept 2015, and can be ordered here.

The second, titled Martyrs, is stated as having a release date of Winter this year.

Next, an announcement for a new Light Novel Supplement for Schwaresmarken was also made, covering the side story of Irisdina Bernhard, titled The silhouette of the Bernhards.

On the model kits side, Kotobukia has finally announced the release date of the Non-scale MiG-21 Balalaika Theodor Eberbach Type Plastic Model, scheduled for a Sep 2015 release as well. Orders can be made here.

In addition, apparently this can be done with the new Frame Arms Girl that Koto released as well.
